The Second International Serge Diaghilev Competition of Choreography Art is organized for professional choreographers to take part in it, and also for students who are studying choreography art on a professional level. This competition is the only one in Poland for professional choreographers. The main conception of this festival is to discover a talented choreographers from many different countries, to initiate a cooperation of gifted ballet masters and their professional experiences exchange, to stimulate a creative process in order to find a new forms and expression means in choreographic art. The main idea of the competition is to evaluate choreographers performance, considering a whole range of art values in submitted art material.

The Second International Serge Diaghilev Competition of Choreography Art will be hold on 5-6 September of year 2003, on one of the most popular stages of Poland Republic - Danuta Baduszkowa Music Theatre in Gdynia. There are a few cultural forums which were hold on this stage, such as The Polish Feature Film Festival, The International Shakespeare Festival, The 7th Eurovision Competition for Young Dancers.

The Honourable Patronage The Second International Serge Diaghilev Competition of Choreography Art was taken by: The Ministry of Culture of Poland Waldemar Dabrowski, The Mayor of Gdynia Wojciech Szczurek, The Mayor of Sopot Jacek Karnowski, The Mayor of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz, The Governor of the Pomeranian Province Jan Ryszard Kurylczyk.

Let us inform you that on 6 September 18:00, 2003 within the framework of The Second International Serge Diaghilev Competition of Choreography Art you can see a performance presented by the Grand Theatre - National Opera, Warsaw. Two one-act ballets will be shown - "The Miraculous Mandarin", music by B. Bartok, choreography by E. Wesolowski and “Powracajace Fale”, music by M. Karlowicz, choreography by E. Wesolowski. Also the Amber Faun 2002 prize winner - Anna Kolek - will perform her awarded choreographic piece “Between You And Me”, music by M. Boine.

General Rules:
No cameras, video cameras or audio recording devices. No mobile phones. No food, bottles, cans and alcohol. Smoking is permitted but not in the auditorium or in the Stalls Bar. No dress code.

Children's Rules:
Children under the age of 1 year are not admitted. If the show is not specifically aimed at an adult-only audience, children aged 1+ are admitted provided that they can sit up straight in a seat and that the parent is confident that the child is old enough not to be a distraction for other members of the audience. Everyone must have a valid ticket. Accompanying adults will be asked to take out any noisy infants.
